Healthy Youth Survey

Sixth and eighth graders will be taking the Healthy Youth Survey October 11th during PACK.  The survey asks questions about risk for injury, health outcomes and alcohol and drug use.  Schools, communities, and state and local health departments use survey results to support our youth and reduce their risks.  Students will be bringing home a flyer with more information.

Something To Howl About!

At our Welcome Back Assembly on Friday, our students were introduced to “Something To Howl About” awards.  Every day we witness our students doing awesome things that exemplify our school’s mission of P.R.I.D.E.- perseverance, responsibility, integrity, diversity, and excellence.  These awards are a new way for us to celebrate the awesomeness that we see every day from our students!

When a teacher observes a student doing something awesome, he or she will occasionally award that student a “Something To Howl About” card that explains which value of P.R.I.D.E the student exemplified.  Then, by delivering the card to the main office, the student is entered into a daily lottery, where one student is celebrated during morning announcements and wins a prize of their choice. After a week in the lottery, “Something To Howl About” cards are returned to students so that they can share their kudos with you at home.

Current lottery prizes, which are based on feedback from 8th grade students, include school supplies and gift cards.  Thank you to business partners like Subway, Starbucks, Menchies, and Panera for providing gift cards as prizes!  Thanks in advance for your support as we continue to take P.R.I.D.E. in our students! If you are interested in donating prizes for the lottery, please contact Mr. Hudac at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
